The old adage ‘buy cheap; buy twice’ is nowhere more true than for walking gear. Bitter experience has shown that cheap kit is always a waste of money. Good kit may cost a bit more, but it will do the job properly and last a long time. Buy from a proper outdoor shop, not an outlet store, unless you’re really savvy about what brands to look for.
